Borussia Dortmund were the better team in the first half, and they took a 2-0 lead into the break.

The First Half
Borussia Dortmund had a strong start to the game and took the lead through Erling Haaland in the 12th minute. Jude Bellingham centred the ball for the Norwegian striker, who slid it past David de Gea.
Through Julian Brandt, Dortmund increased their lead by two goals in the 25th minute. From the left side, the German midfielder made a cut inside before shooting low into the bottom corner.
Manchester United had some opportunities to tie the game up again, but they failed to take advantage of them. The greatest opportunity of the half belonged to Marcus Rashford, but Gregor Kobel blocked his attempt.
The Second Half
Jadon Sancho scored Manchester United’s lone goal in the 55th minute as they came out stronger in the second half. Donny van de Beek set up the English winger for a shot on goal, and he sent the ball beyond Kobel.
Dortmund promptly reacted, though, and added two more goals to complete the triumph. In the 58th and 67th minutes of the game, respectively, Haaland and Brandt both scored their second goals.
The Reaction
Edin Terzic, the manager of Borussia Dortmund, was satisfied with his team’s performance. He declared, “We were excellent in the first half and deserved to be ahead at the break. Although Manchester United played better in the second half, we were still able to win by two goals.”
Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, was unhappy with how his squad played. We didn’t play well enough in the first half, and we paid for it, he claimed. Although we played better in the second half, we didn’t generate enough chances to win the match.
The upcoming
Both sides will be attempting to improve upon their preseason results. This season, Borussia Dortmund plans to contend for the Bundesliga championship, while Manchester United wants to outperform their results from the previous campaign.
Both clubs used the game as an excellent preseason warmup before the start of their individual seasons. On August 5, Borussia Dortmund will begin their Bundesliga campaign, and on August 6, Manchester United will begin their Premier League campaign.
