Kansas City Chiefs WR John Ross Retires from NFL

John Ross, the former first-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals who spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs, has retired from the NFL.

Ross announced his decision on Wednesday, citing a desire to focus on his family and his business ventures.

Ross was drafted by the Bengals with the ninth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

He set the NFL Scouting Combine record for the fastest 40-yard dash at 4.22 seconds.

Ross caught 51 passes for 733 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first four seasons.

However, he was also plagued by injuries throughout his career.

He missed 17 games in his first four seasons, and he played in just 12 games last season with the Chiefs.

Ross’s retirement is a blow to the Chiefs, who were hoping that he could provide them with a deep threat at wide receiver.

However, the team still has a number of talented receivers, including Tyreek Hill, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

He could also explore other business opportunities.

However, for now, he is simply enjoying retirement and spending time with his family.

What’s Next for John Ross?

John Ross’s decision to retire caught many off surprise because he was still a relatively young wide receiver with much of potential. However, his decision to leave the game may have been affected by his recent injuries and uneven production.

The Chiefs are without a wide receiver following Ross’ retirement. Though he occasionally came close, he never quite lived up to the potential of being a serious threat to Patrick Mahomes. Ross’s production should be replaced by one of the quality receivers the Chiefs still have on the roster.

What Ross decides to do next will be intriguing to watch. He has stated that he is considering a career in broadcasting, although he may possibly look into other business ventures. But for the time being, he is just taking it easy and spending time with his family.

John Ross’s NFL Career

Injuries: Ross was plagued by injuries throughout his career. He missed 17 games in his first four seasons, and he played in just 12 games last season with the Chiefs. He suffered a torn ACL in his rookie season, and he also had a number of other injuries, including a hamstring strain and a concussion.

Inconsistent production: Ross was never able to consistently produce at a high level. He had a few good games, but he was often inconsistent. He averaged just 3.6 catches per game for his career, and he never had more than 500 receiving yards in a season.

Chiefs’ depth at wide receiver: The Chiefs still have a number of talented receivers, even without Ross. They have Tyreek Hill, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Mecole Hardman. These receivers should be able to replace Ross’s production.

Ross’s future: Ross has said that he is interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting. He could also explore other business opportunities. However, for now, he is simply enjoying retirement and spending time with his family.

John Ross’s NFL career comes to an end, but his speedster legacy will never be forgotten.
